Spotlight North Dakota – Mosasaurs, Sharks, & Giant Squids: North Dakota’s Prehistoric Underwater World

Seventy-one percent of the world is currently covered by water. However, North Dakota is about as far away from oceanic waters as any land mass can be. But, this is not the way the world always has been. State Paleontologist, Dr. John Hoganson, from the North Dakota Geological Survey, talks about the animals that used to live in North Dakota in past times when the state was covered by water.
