It was to provide water to the eastern part of the state, and is a recreation destination for many North Dakotans, but it also destroyed rich farmlands and dislocated a portion of North Dakota’s native population. Have the benefits outweighed the costs? Humanities scholar and author, Clay S. Jenkinson and Bismarck State College President Larry C. Skogen discusses the history and future of the Missouri River.
