15th Annual Kick Butts Day
ByWednesday, March 24th, marks the 15th anniversary for the Kick Butts Day campaign, which is sponsored by
the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids. Kick Butts Day is a national day of activism that empowers youth to
speak up and take action against tobacco use at more than 2,000 events from coast to coast. Bismarck
schools will be doing activities to promote Kick Butts Day.
Bismarck Public/Private Schools organize events to recognize Kick Butts Day. Area schools participating are:
St. Mary’s Middle School, Century High School, St. Mary’s High School, South Central High School, Horizon
Middle School, Simle Middle School and Wachter Middle School.
The intent of the Kick Butts Day campaign is to focuses on health effects of secondhand smoke, promoting the
ND Quitline and educating students about joining the fight against tobacco by “kicking the habit” or by helping your
loved ones quit this deadly addiction. ND has FREE services to help individuals quit these are the ND Quitline at 1-800-Quit-Now
