Burleigh County Updates Sandbag Collection Zones
ByBismarck, ND—Burleigh County will be opening an additional road side sandbag collection zone and announces closing dates for other zones.
- Zone I (Falconer Estates/Ridgeview Acres/Sibley Island Estates area)
Open Monday, September 12th-26th
- Zone B (Hogue Island/Island Park Estates/Riverside/Valcor area)
- Zone E (Westwood on the River/Sandy River Estates area)
Open Tuesday, September 6th–20th
- Zone A (149th Avenue/Sundown Acres/Missouri Forest Subdivisions area)
- Zone C (Olive Tree/Ponderosa/Sleeping Hollow)
Open Monday, August 29th through September 12th
- Zone D (Misty Waters/Burnt Creek Estates area)
- Zone H (Imperial Valley area)
Both zones are closed
All sandbags must be stacked on the road without pallets, no more than 4’ from the edge of the road next to homeowner’s property. Sandbags must be on the road—not in the ditch. Neighbors are encouraged to work together to ensure that traffic and emergency vehicles have access through the streets at all times. Only sand and sandbags may be placed on the road side in opened zones. No other materials will be accepted.

Burleigh County continues to have three sandbag collection sites open:
- The southwest corner of Burleigh Ave and South Washington Street
- Fairgrounds – northeast of the race track
- Misty Waters Subdivision – Carefree Drive between Deerwood Lane and Tranquil Circle
