City of Bismarck Sandbag Update

Bismarck, N.D. – The City of Bismarck Landfill Bailer Building will be open this week during its normal hours of operation – 8:00 am until 4:00 pm, Monday through Saturday, for citizens that would like to pick up sandbags. It is NOT advisable to pick up sandbags unless they will be placed right away as a dike or stored in a heated location until they are placed.

Citizens NOT living in higher risk areas are requested to NOT pick up sandbags. The locations considered at potentially higher risk over the next several days in Bismarck and Burleigh include: homes south of Expressway AND west of Washington Street South; homes south of Burleigh Avenue between the Missouri River and Apple Creek; homes north of Bismarck near Double Ditch (such as Hogue Island area) that could be impacted by the Ice Jam north of Bismarck.
