Leaders of “Mandan Tomorrow” Plan to Meet August 20 on Implementation

By

The Bismarck Mandan Chamber of Commerce is holding a meeting of steering committee and implementation subcommittee leaders associated with the “Mandan Tomorrow” strategic vision plan on Thursday, Aug. 20 at 8:30 a.m. at National Information Solutions Cooperative, 3201 Nygren Drive, Mandan.

The purpose of the session is to organize implementation efforts including formation of working subcommittees and action plans. The four subcommittees and their chairpersons are:

-  Leadership, Pride and Image — Laurie Leingang
-  Economic Opportunity and Prosperity — Dennis Haider and Jay Feil
-  Quality Places and Destinations — Norm Clark
-  Education and Workforce — Kirsten Baesler

A steering committee comprised of business leaders, elected officials and citizens completed the plan in June. The steering committee is chaired by Baesler and Karen Johner. Committee leaders will ask local government entities to adopt the plan on Sept. 17 at 5:30 p.m. at the Mandan Middle School during a joint meeting of the City Commission, County Commission, School Board and Park Board.
The Chamber has spearheaded this strategic vision planning process for Mandan with contributions from private businesses.  Joining in the endeavor are the City of Mandan, the Mandan Public School District and Mandan Park District.

The “Mandan Tomorrow” plan is posted at www.mandanvisionplan.com. Anyone interested in serving on an implementation subcommittee may contact the Chamber by calling 223-5660.
