Engineering, land use and design consultants will be available all day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for a workshop to receive input. Business owners are invited to stop in at any time to explore how various alternatives might affect their property.

A formal reporting session will be held at 6 p.m. to include proposed roadway alternatives and results of an on-line survey.

Whether Memorial Highway is reconstructed will depend on federal, state and local funding sources. The corridor study is being commissioned by the Metropolitan Planning Organization and City of Mandan as a precursor to determining project costs and engineering. Mandan Messenger News Bulletin – March

The Leadership, Pride & Image Committee (LPI), of the team implementing the Mandan Tomorrow strategic plan, is conducting a candidate prep course. Intended to provide information about elected, public-service positions and to encourage candidacy, the Candidate Information Forum will occur from 7-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 9 at the Mandan Community Center.

“Mandan is a city known for its community support,” said LPI Committee Chairwoman Laurie Leingang. “The Candidate Information Forum is just one way that we can support individuals interested in running for public office.”

Forum attendees will have the opportunity to hear about the various positions, determine if a public-service stint is something they should pursue and learn about the requirements to file for candidacy. Presenters include current elected officials. Anyone interested in running for a position on the Mandan Public School Board, Mandan Park Board, Mandan City Commission or Morton County Commission should attend.
